About Tournament Play
Tournament baseball is a high-stakes, competitive environment where teams face off in a series of elimination-style, against the best talent from other Little Leagues in District 7. These tournaments are fast-paced, high-pressure, and demand strong performance from every player on the roster.
Purpose of Tournament Team Selection
The goal of the tournament team selection process is to build a roster that gives our league the best chance to succeed at the highest level of play. This means:
Selecting the Most Skilled Players: We’re looking for athletes who consistently demonstrate strong fundamentals, situational awareness, and exceptional baseball ability.
Prioritizing Game IQ: Tournament play is not just about talent — it’s about making smart decisions under pressure. Players who understand the game, communicate effectively, and play with discipline are key to a successful team.
Building a Competitive Edge: Our goal is to form a team that can compete against the toughest opponents. That means choosing players who not only perform well individually, but who also elevate the team as a whole.
This is an honor for the players selected — a reflection of their hard work, talent, and understanding of the game. It’s also a serious commitment to represent our league with pride, effort, and competitive spirit.
SELECTION OF TOURNAMENT TEAMS
The managers will select all but the final two (2) of the players to be placed on the tournament team. Each player placed on the tournament team roster by the managers must receive a vote from all but one of the managers (i.e. if there are 10 managers, each player must receive 9 votes to be placed on the team.) If two or more players are tied in the voting and are therefore removed from the ballot and no player(s) remain to fill the final voted spot on the roster, the tournament team manager will be allowed to choose between these final players. The tournament team manager will select the final two (2) players to be placed on the tournament team.
In cases where a manager is indisposed to a point that it will be impossible for him/her to attend the tournament selection meeting, the decision shall be placed in the hands of the Board of Directors as to who shall represent the manager.

TOURNAMENT PLAYERS
All tournament team players are ineligible to pitch in regularly scheduled league games once tournament week begins. However, as soon as the tournament team has been eliminated from tournament competition all players will again be made eligible. Any player who has pitched in the last tournament game is not eligible to pitch for their regular team in scheduled league games until after one (1) day of rest.
Regular season games will continue to be played. Games in conflict with tournament games will be considered rainouts and will be made up on the next available rain date.
TOURNAMENT TEAM MANAGERS
Any regular season coach or manager is eligible to manage the tournament team. Coaches and managers that would like to be considered for the position of tournament team manager must submit, in writing to the President or to the Division Commissioner, a letter of intent requesting to be considered for the position. The Board of Directors will select the tournament team manager. The manager may pick his assistant(s) subject to the approval of the Board of Directors.
