Chief Umpire Board Position Open For Nominations

The Maumee Little League Board is Accepting Nominations for the Chief Umpire Position.
Responsibilities:
1. Ensure all current Maumee Little League rules are communicated and understood by umpire staff
2. Provide an Umpire Schedule that covers all Maumee Little League Games in Modified Kid Pitch, Major and Senior Divisions
3. Point Person of Contact to umpire staff for all rule modifications and any season issues
4. Responsible for conducting pre-season umpire teaching clinics
5. Serve as mentor and key developer of officiating skills for umpires throughout the league

Requirements:
1. Must have Patience and Ability to Act in a Professional Manner with other Umpires, Board Members, Coaches, Players and Fans
2. Superior Communication Skills
3. Attendance at Monthly Board Meetings
4. At times, the chief umpire may have to cover and officiate a game an for unplanned "no show" by a scheduled umpire.

The Board Cannot Stress Enough that a candidate must be able to work well and communicate effectively with teenagers. Traditionally, majority of the umpires in the league are under the age of 18.

This is one of the few paid positions on the Maumee Little League Board.
